God's comfort and protection to the members of Christ the King,

During these times, when we are not able to meet in person, it is good for us to continue our fellowship even though we are not physically able to be together.

WELS Daily Devotions:  The Synod publishes daily devotions. It is good to feed our souls to receive a daily measure of God's word by reading or listening to these devotions.

Electronic Giving:  Since the preschool and the services have been closed, we encourage all our members to continue their financial support of Christ the King congregation. The council has set up a mechanism whereby members can do electronic giving through a site called tithe.ly. To date, 10 members have signed up and we have received contributions of $940. -- Thank you very much!

Treasurer's Status: Prior to this situation, we had sufficient funds in our checking account to issue payrolls in March, but we have only enough for one more payroll. Our monthly payroll is approximately $9,000 per month and in addition we have mortgage, utility payments, etc.

Although the Apostle Paul never overemphasized the subject of giving, he never neglected its importance either. Paul tells the Macedonian Christians:

And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, even beyond their ability.
2 Cor 8:1-3

It will be disappointing if we are not able to gather together this Easter. But remembering Christ's sacrificial love for us, that he gave up everything so that we could inherit the riches of heaven, will help us be both joyful and generous.
