On Sunday afternoon October 30, Christ the King participated in the Chicagoland celebration of the 499th anniversary of Martin Luther's Reformation. We had approximately 20 members from Christ the King travel to the celebration service. Approximately 600 people from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana were blessed to attend.

The festival service was held at the historic St. Andrew Lutheran church in the city of Chicago. The church building is a wonderful facility with soaring bell towers, a beautiful interior, and a mighty pipe organ.

  • The Michatham touring choir of Illinois Lutheran High School sang.
  • A brass ensemble contributed to the festivities.
  • The Lutheran church has long been known as "the singing church" and the enthusiastic singing of the assembly added to the wonderful spirit of the day.
  • The worship service was followed by an Octoberfest fellowship meal of German food.
